A little while back we posted a company profile on Down Range Gear. Here is our review of their ESS Profile NVG Goggle Cover as well as their Goggle Strap Keepers and Night Observation Device (NOD) retention system. You can find these and other products at Down Range Gear

    Mike,

Used copper banding because it is rigid and comes in 3/4″ strips so all I had to do was cut to length. I’m tracking on the option to use a plastic stiffener, and will be experimenting with it in the future.

Also tracking on using a female buckle to dummy cord the optic into pouch and loadbearing gear when stowed, that was a long standing SOP in my platoon (NOD is ALWAYS dummy corded whether on helmet or not!)

Two loop patches on goggle cover were meant to hold cover to helmet while goggles are in use… was planning on fielding two hook tracks on kydex, secured under the NOD plate via helmet screw… that’s been pushed to the back burner, but will get to it sooner or later.

    Thanks much for the review.
