Review: Olongapo Outfitters Grab and Go
We made an announcement last week about the Grab and Go by Olongapo Outfiters. We just received two of them for review.
Our impression is that they are extremely well made. Attention to detail is maintained throughout. Stitch lines are even and consistent with properly reinforced stress points. Each compartment has a drain hole with a properly set grommet to include a nylon webbing backer which will prevent the grommet from popping out. Design and assembly is well thought out to prevent unnecessary over stitching. All materials are high quality. The individual pouches have a 1″ elastic tension band that keep everything snug. Each Pocket holds 2 mags for a total of 8.
There is plenty of room for adjustment of the carry strap. When slung over the shoulder the bag rides comfortably.
The Coyote M1A/FAL version also fits HK91 Mags I’ve also noticed that you can use this one for AR/M16/M4 mags, the flaps catch the top half of the loop patch on mage with Ranger Plates.
The MultiCam AR/M16/M4 version has fairly long flaps long enough that they fit 30 Round AK mags perfectly. and are somewhat long when used with AR/M16/M4 mags even with ranger plates. P-Mags Fit without issue. I spoke to Jerry about the pouch flap length and he mentioned he’s considering shortening them up a bit, I think it would be a good idea.

I have some of Jerry’s stuff and it is first-rate. He takes great pride in his work and is dedicated to providing quality gear. In the spirit of full disclosure I must tell you that Jerry has been a friend of mine since we were young 0311’s. I’ve spent a lot of time with him over the past 24 years, stateside and overseas, and he is a class act. Give his work a try; you won’t be disappointed.

I am a 4 tour veteran of OIF and OEF. I found out that my Uncle started a business that makes pouches that makes sence rather than those that is just a waste of space. My uncle started Olongapo outfitters and he makes his product with great pride. He sent me some test runs while deployed and his product works and every piece of of pouch was used. Being my choice but not his, I paid him for the products and ordered more. FINALLY, for the first time someone made something from peoples opinion.
I’ve read on a few other websites about his work, and everyone seems to love it. I wouldn’t mind picking up one for myself sometime. I need a QUALITY piece of gear like this. I have the three cell pouch with the strap that was issued when I went to Iraq in 05′, but lets just say it’s “lacking” in quality, that’s for sure.
MyCGRPointsI got ahold of Jerry for a custom piece and he’s been great to work with so far. Can’t wait to see the finished product. I’ll post some pics when I get it.
